Nigeria unveils 50 new textbooks to boost local education and reduce foreign book reliance.

The Nigerian government has unveiled 50 academic textbooks written by Nigerian authors to address a critical shortage of high-quality educational resources in the country's universities. Sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), the initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign books and promote indigenous learning materials to enhance national development and improve the global ranking of Nigerian tertiary institutions. The project also includes converting high-quality theses into books and supporting professional journals.
