Monroe County and Rochester form council to enhance policies and access for deaf residents.

Monroe County and the City of Rochester have formed a Deaf Equity Council to improve policies and communication for deaf, deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing residents. The council will advise local leaders, advocate for better access, and meet bi-monthly. The area has the highest per capita deaf population in the US, and applications to join are currently open. An info session is scheduled for April 16.
