On Monday, 512 patients were waiting for beds in Irish hospitals, with 369 in emergency departments and 143 in hospital wards. University Hospital Limerick had the highest number with 95 patients waiting, followed by Cork University Hospital with 65, and University Hospital Galway with 41. The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) monitors this issue, noting that 12 of the waiting patients are under 16 years old.
