Indian government blocks nearly 800,000 SIM cards and thousands of accounts to fight cyber fraud.
The Indian government has blocked over 781,000 SIM cards, 83,668 WhatsApp accounts, and 3,962 Skype IDs linked to digital fraud. These actions, aimed at combating cyber fraud, were announced by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in the Lok Sabha. The government has also launched a system to report and manage cyber fraud, which has reportedly saved about Rs 4,386 crore.
