Grammy winner Lizzo will star and produce in a biopic about gospel pioneer Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Grammy-winning artist Lizzo is set to play gospel singer Sister Rosetta Tharpe, known as the "Godmother of Rock and Roll," in an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios biopic titled "Rosetta." The film will highlight Tharpe's impact on early rock 'n' roll and her groundbreaking 1951 stadium show where she married her manager in front of 25,000 people. Lizzo will also produce the film alongside other industry professionals.
