Former UK Labour MP Mike Amesbury admitted that alcohol and anxiety led him to punch a constituent, Paul Fellows, in Frodsham, Cheshire. Amesbury pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison, which was later suspended. He has resigned from Parliament and is ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work, undergo 120 days of alcohol monitoring, attend anger management, and complete 20 days of rehabilitation. Amesbury admitted to drinking heavily and now wants to stop drinking.
