Fiancé convicted of orchestrating 2015 murder of Texas bride Laura Grillo before her wedding.

Laura Grillo, a Texas woman, was found dead in her kitchen a week before her wedding in 2015. Surveillance footage showed her fiancé, John Makris, at a Home Depot store during the murder, but he was cleared. However, his behavior afterward raised suspicions. James Vileda, an employee, revealed a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by Makris. In 2018, Makris was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Vileda received 25 years, and another accomplice, Treviño, was sentenced to life for capital murder. Grillo's daughter was adopted by her best friend, Heather Nabor.
