Companies set a record for 140 Gbps bidirectional wireless speed, aiding future 6G tech.

NTT, NTT DOCOMO, and NEC have achieved a world record of 140 Gbps in bidirectional wireless transmission using mmWave spectrum, more than doubling conventional speeds. This breakthrough uses Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) mode multiplexing to increase wireless capacity and expand distances. The technology aims to support future 6G services, including high-definition video and disaster response communications.
