California conducts prescribed burns to reduce wildfire risks as San Diego's high fire hazard zones expand.

Prescribed burns are set to begin in eastern Goleta Valley and Los Padres National Forest from March 24 to April 4, weather permitting. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department plans to burn around 30 piles of vegetation to reduce wildfire risks. Meanwhile, San Diego County's new fire hazard maps show a 26% increase in very high hazard zones, now covering 817,212 acres, affecting cities like Imperial Beach and Lemon Grove.
