Amtrak service between Boston and Providence was disrupted on March 24 due to a fire near Hyde Park station, causing significant delays. Service was partially restored by 5:30 p.m., with full service resuming at 8:30 p.m. However, delays of up to 90 minutes were still expected. The fire, possibly caused by water dripping into a transformer, also affected MBTA's Commuter Rail. No injuries were reported.
