A 21-year-old driver was heavily fined and suspended for speeding and drug use near Bathurst.
A 21-year-old P-plate driver was stopped by Lithgow Highway Patrol on March 23, 2025, for speeding at 156 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the Great Western Highway near Bathurst.
The driver, from Thornleigh, was issued a fine of $2959 and six demerit points, had his license suspended for six months, and his number plates confiscated for three months.
He also tested positive for cannabis and cocaine in a roadside drug test, with further drug analysis pending.
