London exhibition unveils Victor Hugo's hidden artistic talent through 70 rare drawings.
A new exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, titled "Astonishing Things: The Drawings of Victor Hugo," highlights the lesser-known talent of the French author, Victor Hugo, famous for "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" and "Les Miserables."
The exhibition features around 70 rarely seen drawings, mostly created between 1850 and 1870, during Hugo's exile in Guernsey.
These works, made with ink, washes, graphite, and charcoal, explore Hugo's progression from caricatures to dramatic landscapes.
The exhibit runs until June 29th and aims to shed light on Hugo's artistic side.
