Former Algerian football star Djamel Menad has died at 64 after a brief illness.
Menad, who played for Algeria 79 times and scored 25 goals, was key in helping Algeria reach the 1986 World Cup and won the 1990 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring four goals in five matches.
He also played for clubs in Algeria, France, and Portugal.
After his playing career, Menad worked as a coach and sporting director.
