India's Supreme Court asks election body to consider publishing detailed voter turnout data online.

The Supreme Court of India has asked the Election Commission (ECI) to consider uploading booth-wise voter turnout data on its website after elections. Petitioners, including TMC MP Mahua Moitra and the NGO Association for Democratic Reforms, have been asked to present their case to the ECI within 10 days. The petitioners had previously filed Public Interest Litigations (PILs) in 2019 seeking to release this data within 48 hours of polling. The ECI has agreed to discuss the matter.
