Study links teens sleeping less than 7.7 hours nightly to higher blood pressure risk.
A study presented at the American Heart Association's scientific sessions found that adolescents who sleep less than 7.7 hours a night are more likely to develop high blood pressure.
Those who reported insomnia and had short sleep duration had five times the odds of having hypertension, while those without insomnia but with short sleep duration had nearly three times the odds of elevated blood pressure, compared to those who slept normally.
