India recommends expanding health insurance to 60+ seniors, doubling coverage and adding treatments.
A Parliamentary committee in India recommends lowering the age for the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme from 70 to 60 years, and doubling the coverage from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per family annually.
The committee also suggests including more high-cost treatments and diagnostics under the scheme and improving fund distribution to states to address underutilization issues.
