A new study in the journal BMJ Open reveals that water aerobics, Zumba, and yoga can help reduce waistlines and aid in weight loss, especially among women and those over 45.
The research, involving 286 obese or overweight participants, found that water-based exercises for 12 weeks or more reduced weight by 3kg and waist circumference by 3cm on average.
The buoyant effect of water reduces joint injuries, making these exercises beneficial for middle-aged and elderly people.
