Turkey has become the third largest in Europe for onshore wind energy capacity, adding 1.3 gigawatts (GW) in 2024, according to WindEurope.
Europe installed a total of 16.4 GW in wind energy capacity last year, with Germany leading at 3.2 GW, followed by Finland at 1.4 GW, and Turkey at 1.3 GW.
By year-end, Europe’s total wind energy capacity reached 285 GW, with projections of 186 GW of new projects to be added by 2030, mainly onshore.
