A 43-year-old gambling addict, Andrew McMorran, stole about €84,000 worth of laptops from his employer, Pepper Group in Shannon, to fund his addiction.
Working in IT, McMorran removed and sold Dell laptops by marking them as unusable.
He has a previous conviction for a similar offense.
Lax stock supervision at Pepper Group allowed the thefts, which occurred between July 2021 and March 2023.
McMorran has deleted gambling apps and is in recovery, with his sentencing scheduled for March 25.
