Mabel Segun, a 95-year-old Nigerian writer and children's literature advocate, has passed away.
Known for her book "My Father's Daughter," which became a global school text, Segun was a pioneer in children's literature, founding the Children's Literature Association of Nigeria and the Children's Documentation and Research Centre.
