Ireland's €650M Silvermines project advances, set to store enough energy for 185,000 homes.
The Silvermines Hydroelectric Energy Storage Project in County Tipperary, Ireland, has advanced to the permit granting stage as a Project of Common Interest (PCI), crucial for EU energy and climate goals.
The €650 million project will store up to 296 MW of electricity, enough to power 185,000 households or 21,000 small businesses daily.
It is expected to create 400 jobs during construction and 50 during operation.
