Robert S. Rose, 35, was fatally shot by deputies in North Charleston after a standoff. The incident started when deputies were called to escort Rose to a mental health facility. After Rose assaulted a deputy with a hatchet, a standoff ensued. When Rose, armed with hatchets, refused to comply with officers' commands, they fired, fatally wounding him. SLED is investigating the shooting.
