New Zealand's job market shows mixed signals: a monthly rise but yearly drop, pushing unemployment to 5.1%.
New Zealand saw a 0.3% increase in filled jobs in January 2025, adding 7,948 jobs to reach 2.36 million.
Despite this growth, the total number of filled jobs fell by 1.2% or 28,700 jobs compared to January 2024.
