Arizona tribe enacts teen curfew amid surge in youth-related violent crimes.
The Gila River Indian Community in Arizona has implemented a temporary curfew for all members under 18, from 7 PM to 5 AM, in response to a recent surge in violent crimes, including a shooting.
The curfew, which runs until March 9 and was declared by Governor Stephen Roe Lewis in a public safety emergency, allows exceptions for work, school, and emergencies.
Violators may face penalties.
