Syria's interim President pledges state control over weapons and sets up a transitional justice committee.

Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa pledged at a national dialogue conference to establish a state monopoly on weapons and form a transitional justice committee. Al-Sharaa, leader of the group that ousted former President Bashar al-Assad, aims to rebuild Syria after years of civil war. The conference, however, faced criticism for not adequately representing minority groups, including the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.
