India opens a 68km stretch of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway, promising to cut travel time between cities.
The 68km Karnataka stretch of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway has opened, with around 2,000 vehicles using it daily.
The full 260km expressway, set to be completed by year-end, will cut travel time between the cities from seven to three hours.
India is also developing other major expressways, including the 700km Pune-Bengaluru Expressway and the 1,350km Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, aimed at boosting economic activity and reducing congestion on existing highways.
