Companies in Italy are launching a plant to convert waste into low-carbon methanol and hydrogen.
MET Development, Eni, and IREN Ambiente are starting the permitting process for a new plant in Italy that will use waste to produce up to 110,000 tons of low-carbon methanol and 1,500 tons of hydrogen annually.
The plant, using NEXTCHEM's technology at Eni's refinery, will convert waste into synthesis gas, aiding in the decarbonization of industries and providing green fuels for mobility.
It will also recover 33,000 tons of granulate for the cement industry annually.
