Grain prices soar in parts of Australia due to global demand, despite expected drop in exports to China.
Grain prices in Queensland and northern New South Wales have risen by $5 this week, reaching $345 and $323 per delivered ton respectively.
The increase is due to last year's large harvest and strengthening global markets, particularly in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, partly because of Russian export restrictions.
Despite this, Australian wheat exports to China are expected to be lower than previous years due to reduced Chinese imports.
