At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), a straw poll found that Senator Adam Schiff and California Governor Gavin Newsom were seen as the biggest threats to the U.S. and the Republican Party, with 19% and 16% of the vote respectively.
Newsom was also named the politician that GOP voters fear the most heading into the 2026 presidential primary season, receiving 24% of the vote.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and former First Lady Michelle Obama were second and third, with 22% and 14% respectively.
