Wyoming Senate approves bill allowing concealed firearms in most public areas, including schools.
Wyoming's Senate has approved House Bill 172, which seeks to repeal most state gun-free zones, including governmental buildings and schools, allowing concealed carry permit holders to bring firearms into these areas.
An amendment proposes giving local school boards the authority to decide on permitting guns in schools.
The bill must now go back to the House for approval of Senate amendments before potentially reaching Governor Mark Gordon, who vetoed a similar bill last year due to concerns over local control.
