Malaysia plans to debate bills reforming parliamentary structure and amending the constitution.
The Malaysian Cabinet plans to debate and table the Parliamentary Services Bill 2025 and a Federal Constitution amendment bill during the current parliamentary session.
Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said will present the bills for their first reading on February 24, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim set to deliver the second reading on March 4.
The bills aim to establish a Parliamentary Council and include the Dewan Rakyat Speaker and Dewan Negara president in it, as part of a reform agenda to strengthen democratic institutions.
