Three donors and BC Parks Foundation protect 117 hectares of Okanagan Lake land for Kokanee salmon.
Three Kelowna residents and the BC Parks Foundation have teamed up to protect 117 hectares of land along Okanagan Lake, crucial for Kokanee salmon spawning.
Colin Pritchard, Gordon Baughen, and Robin Durrant donated the land, with additional funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Wilson 5 Foundation.
The area is currently protected and not open to the public, but plans are in place to eventually allow public access, with help from First Nations and community groups.
