Former Haiti orphanage founder Michael Geilenfeld convicted of sexually abusing boys, faces up to 30 years in prison.
Michael Geilenfeld, 73, the founder of an orphanage in Haiti, has been found guilty by a Miami jury of sexually abusing boys at his St. Joseph's Home for Boys.
Convicted on six counts of illicit sexual contact with minors and one count of traveling to Haiti for that purpose, Geilenfeld faces up to 30 years in prison for each charge at his sentencing on May 5.
The orphanage, operational from 2005 to 2010, was closed in 2014.
Abuse claims against Geilenfeld in Haiti remain unresolved.
