Local charities extend shelter hours and increase beds amid Baton Rouge's freezing temperatures.
In response to freezing temperatures in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, The Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul are extending shelter hours and offering more beds.
The Salvation Army will operate from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and St. Vincent de Paul from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
New clients need ID, and BRPD officers will help transport those in need to shelters.
Donations can be made at the Center of Hope.
Residents are encouraged to contact BRPD or St. Vincent de Paul before 8 p.m. for assistance.
