First commercial flight links Southwest China's Xizang to Hong Kong, boosting tourism and ties.
The first commercial flight connecting Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region and Hong Kong began operations on Wednesday.
Operated by Tibet Airlines, the flight runs twice a week, offering a new route to support Xizang's openness, boost its cultural and tourism industries, and strengthen ties with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The flight departs Lhasa at 8:10 a.m., stops in Chengdu, and arrives in Hong Kong at 2:35 p.m.
Prior to this, Xizang had only two international routes, one to Nepal and another to Singapore.
