Two hikers were airlifted to safety by rescuers in Red Rock Canyon after being stranded.
A hiker was rescued by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's search and rescue team in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area using a helicopter.
The hiker, who was stranded 400 feet above a trail, was located after a passerby heard distress calls and called 911.
Despite initial communication challenges due to the terrain, the hiker was hoisted to safety and taken to a Bureau of Land Management Fire Station.
In a separate incident, a male hiker with a lower leg injury was also airlifted to safety in the same area with the help of the search and rescue team and local fire departments.
