Mark Tapp, a Swindon man, was found guilty of operating an unlicensed scrap metal collection business and ordered to pay £3,030 in fines.
Tapp, who claimed to work for Wiltshire Junk Busters, was caught collecting scrap metal and rubbish without proper licensing, violating the Scrap Metal Dealers Act of 2013.
Wiltshire Council and Police collaborated to gather evidence leading to his conviction.
