Madhya Pradesh High Court approves trial run to incinerate toxic waste from Bhopal disaster.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has approved a three-phase trial run to dispose of 40-year-old toxic waste from the Union Carbide factory in Bhopal, at the Pithampur facility.
Each phase, starting Feb 27, will incinerate 10 tons of waste.
Results will be submitted to the Central Pollution Control Board for assessment.
The final report will be presented to the court on March 27.
The waste, linked to the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, has been stored in Pithampur since Feb 13.
