Former Australian gang leader Bassam Hamzy claims to have left criminal life, awaiting new sentence.

Australian gang leader Bassam Hamzy, former head of the Brothers 4 Life crime gang, is no longer active in criminal activities, his lawyer claims. Hamzy, found guilty of supplying over 450g of methamphetamine while in prison for murder, faces a new sentence date in April. Despite strict conditions in the Supermax prison, he has reportedly changed, and his gang is no longer active. Hamzy will not be eligible for parole until 2035.
