WAEC announces 2024 exam results for Nigeria, showing a 9.35% rise in passing rates among private candidates.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates in Nigeria. Out of 65,023 candidates, 34,878 (53.64%) achieved at least five credits, including English and Mathematics, marking a 9.35% increase in performance. Results for 95.90% of candidates were fully processed, while 2,669 candidates had some results pending due to errors. Additionally, the results of 2,577 candidates were withheld due to alleged examination malpractice. The exam was conducted in both traditional paper and computer-based formats for the first time.
