Two ice climbers, Vincent Lapointe and Zephi Friel, were rescued after an avalanche trapped them at Cannon Cliffs in Franconia State Park, New Hampshire.
The avalanche occurred while they were attempting the Black Dike climbing route.
Lapointe was partially buried and injured, while Friel was uninjured.
Friel called 911, and both climbers managed to self-evacuate towards the trail.
The Pemi Search and Rescue Team and Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol assisted in their rescue.
Despite his injuries, Lapointe refused medical assistance at the scene and was later driven to the hospital by Friel.
