Kim Jong Un visited his father's mausoleum and launched a housing project in Pyongyang.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang to pay respects to his late father, Kim Jong Il, on his birthday, marking his first visit in four years. Kim was accompanied by his sister and top officials. He also attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a project to build 50,000 new homes in Pyongyang to boost the economy. The visit coincided with North Korea's major public holiday, the Day of the Shining Star.
