China begins construction on a $314 million aeroengine test facility to boost aircraft and drone development.
China has started building its first privately-funded aeroengine test facility in Chongzhou, Sichuan Province, valued at 2.25 billion yuan ($314 million).
Led by ZhongFaTianXin (SiChuan) Aviation Technology Co., Ltd, the facility aims to address high-altitude testing challenges for small and medium-sized aircraft engines and produce light aircraft engines.
Expected to be completed by 2027, it will also support the development of drones, flying cars, and low-altitude vehicles, aligning with Chongzhou's goal to become a "Sky City" by 2027.
