Sarnia gallery exhibits Inuit stone carvings donated by IODE, marking the organization's 125th anniversary.
The Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery in Sarnia is showcasing an exhibition of 19 Inuit stone carvings, donated by the local Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (IODE) chapter in the 1960s.
The exhibition, running until July 6, coincides with the IODE's 125th anniversary and includes historical context and a map of the Northern Quebec communities where the sculptures originated.
The IODE, founded in 1900 to support Canadians in the Boer War, recently donated over $23,000 to local students and contributed to various community projects.
