The Pentagon offers reenlistment to vaccinated troops discharged for refusing COVID-19 vaccines.
The US Defense Department has instructed military services to contact and offer reenlistment to service members discharged or who left due to refusing the COVID-19 vaccine.
Those who reenlist must commit to at least two years of service.
About 8,200 troops were discharged in 2021 for not getting vaccinated, and only 113 have reenlisted since offers began in 2023.
Eligible service members can return to their previous rank with back pay, benefits, and bonuses if they meet all requirements.
The offer is valid for one year from February 7, 2023.
