Meta, formerly Facebook, is developing "Project Waterworth," a $10 billion, 50,000 km subsea cable linking five continents. This is Meta's first fully owned cable project, aiming to enhance digital communication, video, and AI services. The cable, over 24 fiber pairs long, will be the world's longest, with India playing a key role in financing and maintaining parts in the Indian Ocean.
