UK stats predict rising life expectancy, with 2023-born boys reaching 86.7 and girls 90 by 2047.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) projects that life expectancy will continue to rise, with boys born in 2023 expected to live to 86.7 years and girls to 90 years. By 2047, these figures are expected to be 89.3 and 92.2 years, respectively. The data suggests that over a quarter of girls and nearly a fifth of boys born in 2047 could live to 100. The life expectancy gap between men and women, currently 3.4 years, is projected to narrow to 2.5 years by 2072, due to improved lifestyles and healthcare.
