Indian official states only Parliament can remove a high court judge, not the Supreme Court.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar stated that only Parliament can remove a high court judge, addressing the pending impeachment notice against Justice Shekhar Yadav of the Allahabad High Court. The notice, submitted by 55 opposition MPs, accuses Justice Yadav of misconduct due to controversial remarks. Dhankhar noted the Supreme Court's involvement would only occur after the motion is passed by Parliament.
