German wholesale prices jumped 0.9% in January, driven by higher metal and food costs.
German wholesale prices have risen for two consecutive months, increasing by 0.9% in January compared to both the previous month and the same month last year.
The spike was largely due to higher costs of non-ferrous metals and semi-finished products, as well as increased prices for coffee, tea, cocoa, and spices.
This growth exceeded initial expectations and marks a significant increase from the 0.1% rise seen in December.
