Miami Marlins sign pitcher Cal Quantrill to a $3.5M deal, hoping he returns to previous form.
The Miami Marlins signed right-handed pitcher Cal Quantrill to a $3.5 million, one-year contract with potential for an additional $500,000 in incentives. Quantrill, 30, had a 4.98 ERA in 29 starts for the Colorado Rockies in 2024. The Marlins hope he can return to his 2021-2022 form with the Cleveland Guardians, where he posted a 3.16 ERA. To make room for Quantrill, the team placed left-hander Braxton Garrett on the 60-day injured list.
